Connection will work over nmea2000 network, Or if you dont have a network, connect them directly with 2 wires. Wireless (BLE) connectivity is also possible.

Injection moulded UV proof ASA.  It ComeS with a silicone cover. Has physical buttons with tactile feedback and a sun readable lcd. The housing is interchangeable with Raymarine/simrad/B&G control displays

That's a nice looking head unit. Does it have (a) any button illumination and (b) any means of dimming the buttons or LCD. Thank you 21 Sep 2026

Thanks Jonathan. a) The screen is illuminated by white LED's, the buttons are not b) The screen can be dimmed to 5 levels, suitable for night sailing. The high contrast large embossed buttons are easy to recognize during with very low ambient light. I am sure after a few nautical miles, the positions of the buttons are in your muscle memory.

Yes it will work of course. The new firmware has the characteristic embedded, there no need to know it. But the communication protocol is open. You can find details here: https://github.com/pieteroskam/autopilot#communication-channels

Hi Jean-Marc, Yes the display can change all the parameters. The idea that the phone isn't necessary anymore and that anyone can control and tweak the autopilot.

By 12V /24V from your boat or via USB. You may choose, both are possible. You don't need a NMEA2000 network. A simple 2 core shieled wire will work as well.
